What if God was one of us

What if God was one of us?  Would you try to stay away from Him, or would you make sure you two were great friends?  Perhaps you'd have Him as one of your 5,000 friends on your facebook page.  Maybe he'd be your neighbor or attend your church, school, or local gym.

Would He be pleased with the life you are living?  Would He want to hang out with you on the weekends?  Perhaps you'd be ashamed to have him as your sidekick.  Maybe you'd love to show Him off as your friend.
A penguin foams past the biology.

Pesonally, I like the lyrics to Joan Osborne's song:

If God had a name, what would it be

And would you call it to his face

If you were faced with him in all his glory

What would you ask if you had just one question

And yeah yeah God is great yeah yeah God is good

yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

What if God was one of us

Just a slob like one of us

Just a stranger on the bus

Trying to make his way home

If God had a face what would it look like

And would you want to see

If seeing meant that you would have to believe

In things like heaven and in jesus and the saints and all the prophets

And yeah yeah god is great yeah yeah god is good

yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

What if God was one of us

Just a slob like one of us

Just a stranger on the bus

Trying to make his way home

He's trying to make his way home

Back up to heaven all alone

Nobody calling on the phone

Except for the pope maybe in rome

And yeah yeah God is great yeah yeah God is good

yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

What if god was one of us

Just a slob like one of us

Just a stranger on the bus

Trying to make his way home

Just trying to make his way home

Like a holy rolling stone

Back up to heaven all alone

Just trying to make his way home

Nobody calling on the phone

Except for the pope maybe in rome

Zumba fitness is an awesome cardio workout

It has definitely been way too long since I have taken the time to blog. Even though I am now the Chesapeake Wellness Examiner, I have been itching to write from my perspective and about any thing that comes to mind.

Sticking to the topic of wellness is great, but I am going to utilize this blog as I once intended; that is to relax, relate, and release on whatever issues are going on in this virtuous woman's life!

The blog community is such a wonderful way to share the good news of the Gospel and I am determined to do this more and more.

Now, so about Zumba!!!  I actually had this Zumba Advanced tape for over 5 years and when I tried it then, it was so difficult for me that I just didn't really try again.  So, many of my friends have been going to Zumba class and talking about it on Facebook.  I don't presently have a gym membership, but I have been working out vigorously at home!

I put that Zumba Advanced dvd in a couple of weeks ago and now I am hooked! It is such an awesome cardio workout.

Not only do you burn lots of calories, but it is so fun just dancing and laughing at yourself doing these incredible moves.  So, when you get a chance please check out Zumba!

"We Fall Down...But We Get Up"

Donnie McKlurkin hits the nail on the nose when he belts these lyrics. We have such a forgiving and never changing God! No matter how bad the fall, how great the mistake, or how much we might have strayed, God is just to forgive us if we but ask, repent, and believe. Many people think they can't even be a Christian because they feel they are not perfect or good enough, but remember God's word tells us that no man is without sin and if he says he is than the truth is not in him. However difficult the task may be, we can accomplish what seems to be the impossible only with the help of the Lord. Through Him all things are possible. As the lyrics reveal, "A saint is just a sinner who fell down... and got up" So, just when you think that its over and you've ruined your chance to make things right, God's grace and mercy is what keeps us. Ask God to forgive you of your sin, repent, and get back up. Don't just get up, but raise up and try even harder to do whatever task has been set before you. Just know God won't put more on you than you can bear. If you really feel you can't bear it, think for a moment, Did God put this on me or did I put it on myself? Either way, He will hear your faithful cry and answer your prayers. We all fall, but only the righteous get back up.

So This Is What Its Like

To be content in whatever state you're in
To love whole-heartedly
To believe in something with all your might
To dream such vivid dreams you just know you're awake
To live a life without confusion
To know, that you know, that you know
To run without a fear of lagging behind
To challenge yourself to the utmost
To set no limits on your ability
To just be
To just do it
So this is what its like
To love God and be true to yourself

8 Ways to Be Single and Satisfied

Okay, I haven't forgotten about those men and women who are not married. If you are single, please read the following and get more on being single and satisfied by clicking the title of this post.

Happiness basically comes from within.
Furthermore, unless we have learned how to live fulfilled, contented and happy lives as singles, we are not likely to find fulfilling relationships or make healthy marriage partners should we decide to marry. Happy, well-adjusted people tend to have happy well-adjusted relationships. Looking to someone else to meet our unmet needs and fill the void caused by unresolved personal issues is a recipe for relational disaster. This is why it is imperative to resolve our own personal problems if we are to find loving, lasting and healthy relationships. Fundamentally, to a varying degree, especially romantically, we are as sick or as healthy as the people we are attracted to.
Happy, well-adjusted people tend to have happy well-adjusted relationships.
If you have either chosen a single life or been thrust into it by circumstances beyond your control, the question is, as a single, "How do you find fulfillment and satisfaction in light of the fact that we have been created for relationships?"

First, make a commitment to continue growing emotionally and spiritually.
Second, and equally important, is to take care of your physical wellbeing.
Third, maintain a clear conscience. There’s nothing like a guilty conscience to destroy one’s peace of mind.
Fourth, remember that character counts.
Fifth, know what your gifts and talents are and develop these.
Sixth, master the art of effective communications.
Seventh, recognize legitimate needs and get these met in healthy ways.
Finally, serve others.

Someone has wisely said that the person who is all wrapped up in him or her self makes a mighty small package. Don’t allow this to be said of you. If you consistently practice these eight principles, I am confident that you, too, will find considerable peace, contentment, fulfillment and satisfaction in your singleness.

There is a Way Out

I've lost 8 lbs so far with Alli! I'm doing some things right now, so I will of course inform you of more later! God bless you all and be encouraged. Whatever it is you may be going through right now is just that, something to go through. It doesn't mean you will stay in that place, whether good or bad. If things are great just ask the Lord for his continued blessings and what you need to do to stay happy. Keep in mind there is always room for increase and with God there is no limit! If things are a bit challenging for you right now, just remember that joy really does come in the morning. Though dark may be your day, 1, 2, or 3 days, or maybe even years, on the other side of the clouds is sunshine. Ask God to show you what it is you can do to make things better. He will show you the way, but it is up to us to be obedient to His will. Due time, my brothers and sisters, due time. With Christ in our corner, just know there is a way out of what may seem to be a helpless and/or hopeless situation!
